Yes! I’m going to do it! Tear a Rockstar Games a new one. Don’t take this in a wrong way, I love Rockstar games like Grand Theft Auto series, I still play GTA V online, but that doesn’t mean I can’t criticize them, their business tactics and how they release games.
I just read the Gamespot article titled as “Red Dead Redemption 2’s Release Window Doesn’t Matter, Take-Two Says” and realized that this just proves even more that Take Two and Rockstar Games are very cocky at this point. They enjoy the status they can release a game at any time and it will be a success almost certainty and also what my actual issue with them at the moment is. They know, they can sell you the same game twice or even trice. They proved this with the Grand Theft Auto V which was first released on PS3 and X360 back in 2013. You probably bought it back then for the first time. I did. You probably bought it back then for the first time. I did. Then they released it for PS4 and
They proved this with the Grand Theft Auto V which was first released on PS3 and X360 back in 2013. You probably bought it back then for the first time. I did. Then they released it for PS4 and XOne in 2014. You probably bought it for the second time in that point, I didn’t because I saw the bullshit Rockstar Games and Take Two were pulling. I was waiting for the PC version to come out already which they delayed time after time and time again. I’m pretty sure about that GTA V didn’t come out for the PC back in late 2014 alongside with current generation console releases because they saw an another opportunity there. They knew there will be good amount people left who will be buying it for the third time. Let’s face it, the PC version is the best version of the game, by far. The only one that can even run at 60 fps and more and looks even way better than PS4 and XOne versions.
So, we have established the facts that Take Two and Rockstar Games are cocky as fuck at this point and they know people will double dip. I’m 100% sure they will try to do the same thing with Red Dead Redemption 2 which got delayed by six months or so like yesterday. It isn’t even announced for PC yet, and there’s a good reason for that. The uncertainty it never coming to PC is something that will lead justification for some people and in this case, a lot of people to buy it day one for the console, if they happen to own one. These same people will most likely double dip when the game hits PC. I hate this. I hate the fact they can actually do shitty things like this. I will buy the game once this time when it finally some day releases on PC. Of course, they will release the last game finally for the PC at some point before that to soften the blow, if they really want to make money they should, PC gamers have waited for that game for years and years now.
Rockstar Games makes excellent games but how they do business is so anti-consumer it perplexes me.
